Habit 1: Aspiration
Aspiration comes from the word aspire which refers to a strong desire to achieve it. after knowing the true meaning and having some brief examples of aspiration, I aspire to do well in my studies to have a promising future and at the same time to enjoy the adventure camp and develop some leadership qualities.

Habit 3: Absolute Belief
Well, I was once a girl who dreaded exam and got horrible results for it. But ever since a special teacher walked into life when I was in primary 5, I must admitted that he had changed me. He inspired me to work hard and had seen the potential in me, so he moved me to sit with students who are more studious. I heeded his advice and changed for a better person, the people around me kept pushing me on and in the end, to my own surprise, I actually got second in class which I had never did in my whole primary school life. I don't believe in myself. And I also had been in the worst class before that, well, which every teachers dreaded too. Now I believed that everything have to be come from your hard works, sweat and your soul. You have to believe that you can do it. Me, myself, I seriously dont' believe in inheriting your mother or your father's good genes, then you can be a better person and can think better, achieving the same of your parents' achievement. I don't believe in that, both my parent are not well-educated too. You have to press on no matter how hard your life is. Jia you!

P120 Aspiration & Visualization (AIonA1003 & AVeoV4005)
Habit 1: Aspiration & Habit 4: Visualization
In order to aspire, you must have a direction of life, a goal to work on.
Lao Tzu once said, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." In order to take the first step which leads you to the right direction in life, you have to know where you are heading towards. In life, many of us do not aspire. With no direction in life, we took the first step without knowing where to head for, ending up lost.
At the age of 8, I aspired to be a GYNAECOLOGIST, to bring lives and hopes to the world. This aspiration keeps me going ever since then and I worked very hard towards it. The road towards this goal of mine is not easy but the cute babies around me constantly remind me that there are many more babies waiting to be born. Hence, whenever I meet with any difficulty, I will always visualise myself being what I aspire to be, thus I never give in to challenges and I will face the problems with a smile, for when the going gets tough, it is the tough that gets going.

Everthing started when my NPCC trainer asked us to do some physical exercise. i perfectly know that exercise is my weakness, i could't even do 3 pumpings. when i see my teamates finishing 20 pumpings in a row compared to me none was done.i seriously felt so demoralised.
That night, i hugged my knees to my chest, I sat down peering out of my bedroom window, i watched the rain drops fall as quick as the tears that streamed down from my face. I decided to seek for help from my best friend. she gave me encouranging words like 'nothing is impossible' in the world and the nike logo 'you can do it'.
So I gave a try and I hit the gym almost everyday. And guess what, in a few months time 50 pumpings were a piece of cake to me. I want to encourage people that even though you didn't make it, it is alright. As it is the fighting spirit and the effort that you have put in that make the differences.

I failed horribly for my math test several times. My teacher suggested me this skill and told me to Iwrite a specific goal for my results and paste it on places that I would see regularly. It helps!
I pasted it on places which I would get distracted on, like the computer and the television. It serves as a purpose to make me remember my goal.
For the next class test and the following few, I scored quite well.

Habit 3: Absolute Belief
I played for a Sunday league team on Sunday (obvious) and I recall this incident clearly even though it happened a few months back.
We were playing against another team who fielded players much more experienced than us technically. We were being pinned back in our half in the first half as the opponents scored 2 goals.
During the half-time talk, our coach said this to us, "Do not be intimidated just because they are stronger physically and technically more advanced than all of you. You only need to tell yourself this, 'I can win this game!' and the game will be yours to win."
Fired up by the coach's words, our team managed to win the game 4-3 at the end of the game. Our coach then said this, as we gathered for a full-time talk, "Remember, you are your own enemy. If you don't believe in yourself, no one else would."
Till today, I remember his words of wisdom everywhere I go and have belief in my own abilities, be it on or off the soccer field.

I told myself to take [ACTION] immediately and study. By repeating it 3 times a day, I managed to prepare myself better for my CA2.
Thus, I was rewarded with a total of 83 out of 100 marks for CA2.

The skill of absolute belief has indeed helped me a lot through the program of the “Knights of the Round Table”. It taught me to trust in myself and believe that I can do it as long as I aspire. There is no limit to possibilities. Life is never impossible.
Just like the trip to the moon. Last time, people claimed that going to the moon was an impossible thing to be done. The first person, Mr Armstrong, did it.
Through the talk, I applied what I have learnt to jogging and prior to it, I was jogging for only 5 rounds at one go. Now I can jog 7 at one go which is a great achievement for me.

Reciting of Self-Belief Statement.
I am a gymnast. Still remembered the moment before competition, where it was going to be my turn to perform up at the trampoline. During the period, besides looking at my fellow ‘comrades’ performing, I also thought of winning in my mind. I told myself not to be afraid and do the best I can.
When it’s my turn, I gave it all I got and I performed pretty well in the competition. Although our school did not win (we got 6th in Singapore), but I have learned that the power of the inner mind is a great reservoir of power. Like a well, it has energy that can be tapped onto. I think that if the inner power was tapped on even more, we might even achieve better results.

What is defined as success?
To me, success is the reward that comes after you have worked hard for it. Success may not be achieving fame and wealth, but instead, when you get a reward for your hard work and effort, that is success. Success gives you a sense of accomplishment and encourages to work harder next time. To me, the fastest way to achieve success is to start working hard for it. The actions that you take will help you in achieving success and the more actions you take, the faster you will achieve success. For us students, success is determined by the number of distinction that you achieved.
In order to achieve success, we must start working hard now.

Habit 3: Absolute Belief
After going through the adhoc training for the 8 habits of mind, I tried it out by first choosing Habit 3: Absolute belief. Being a very low self-esteemed person, it contradicted the habit I had chosen. I used to have absolutely no confidence in myself and what I was able to achieve.
In the worksheet, I had stated down, under My Unlimited World of Reality, that I was to recite a few statements 3 times daily; one of which was that “I am a good person!”
Not that I thought that I was not a good person. It was that I thought I wasn’t good enough for many people such as my juniors and seniors in St John Ambulance Brigade. It seems as though I had let them down too many times. I carry a heavy responsibility in SJAB to maintain discipline and ensure that their trainings are effective. However, being the head of discipline is no easy feat because you tend to want to be favored among the seniors yet at the same time pleasing to the juniors. With me shouting at the juniors every now and then makes me a rather unpopular senior among the rest. If I don’t shout at them, the seniors will shout at me. A rather awkward situation to be in.
Anyway, I reminded myself that I was a good person trying to do the right thing.
Time flew by, and it led to the day of the last parade before End of Year examinations begin. As usual, I shouted at them, more than I intended to and one of them nearly cried.
So my squad mates and I talked to them regarding discipline and later we had some fun running up and down the school car park.
After closing parade, one of our alumni Sir came and did a separate AAR (after action review) for the juniors and my squad mates and I. It turned out that we did a fine job in the discipline sector as well as cheering them up after we scolded them. The juniors did not have too many complaints. I was relieved.
I soon came to realize that it wasn’t that I was not good enough; it was actually because I did not believe in myself.

Habit 3: Absolute Belief
Being a NCC [Sea] cadet in PHS, I aspire to do well in it, and devoted a lot of my time into this CCA however, I was unsure of myself, as I was afraid that I would not be able to qualify for the challenge quest, where cadets are to be able to complete 50 standard push-ups and sit-ups both within a minute, and complete a 1km run and a standard obstacle course within 6 minutes, as I do not have much stamina, and compared to my other peers, I am considered quite a poor runner.
However, after learning the Inner Knight's 1st 8 habits, I started to implement this habit into my life, the habit of self-belief, where I tap into the power of my unconsciousness, and tell myself that I would be able to do it everyday just before I go to bed, and when I woke up, until the day of selection.
During the selection, our commanding officer, LTA Ash Ng took us and wanted all the secondary three cadets that are considered fit to compete in it. Surprisingly, I was the first to complete both my 50 push-ups and sit-ups, and we had a mini standard obstacle course, where my timing was second. These were all moral boosters for me before the last station, which was the 1km run. I kept telling myself that I could do it during the run, and guess what? I came in 3rd in the run, and was chosen to be in the team! What’s more, I was even made the team captain and had to train the other team members in preparation for the upcoming challenge quest! This was a very important thing that happened to me in my life, and I am very happy to have succeeded in it, and most importantly, to have succeeded by using one of the habits taught to me during the training sessions.
